Our Mad Hatter's Tea Party/Baby Shower Table Setting

For my Mad Hatter's Table I wanted to create a colorful yet garden inspired tablescape to reflect the many colorful characters from the Tea Party's Alice in Wonderland's inspiration.  I used alternating pink and blue flower shaped salad plates since our Mother-to-Be didn't know what she was expecting.  The salad plates were placed on black luncheon plates on top a white lattice Charger.  I also sprinkled little "baby" themed trinkets on blues, pinks, purples, and turquiose to help decorate the table.  A teapot on a bed of cabbage stood as my centerpiece until it came time to serve the tea - which I then removed to allow guest to socialize without anything obstructing their view as it was replaced with a plate of tea-sandwiches.  A little Baby wrapped in a basket was placed in front of the Mother-to-Be, who sat at thte head of our table as the guest of honor.  Silver filigree picture frames acted as placecards with names of each guest printerd on the inside.  Plates were set on Green Leaf Mats to highlight the place setting...and as with all my settings, a knife rest was used...in this case a silver swan.  See the close up below.

A seperate Table was set for Gifts, Desserts and Loose Teas for guest to peruse and access when desired.  In the center I place my guests party favors - cans of loose teas with complimentary tea infusers and tea bag holders.  Combined on one large raised cake plate, this made an excellent centerpiece for this table.  In addition each loose tea was marked using a seperate place card to identify the tea flavor.  The Tea theme worked well with our baby shower, as afterall....
A BABY WAS BREWING!

Guests were instructed to come dressed in Hats befitting the occassion...in my opinion,
they did a great job!  Can you pick the Winner???
